After over six months of research and discussions with potential customers and industry experts, Wingbits has announced a significant transition from onboarding build-your-own devices to onboarding Wingbits Approved Devices only. • Security Enhancements: All online stations at the time of the announcement will receive a free USB dongle containing cryptographic and GPS chips. This cost will be absorbed by the company as a gesture of appreciation. Build-your-own devices must enable this dongle within 90 days of receipt to continue earning rewards.

• Build-your-own Device Limit: The network will allow up to 2,000 total build-your-own devices. These devices must purchase a dongle at a discounted price to continue participating after 2024. Once the network reaches 2,000 devices, onboarding will be locked until approved hardware is available, expected in early November.

• Mining Wingbits on 3rd Party: Wingbits will collaborate with 3rd parties like Crankk or BitHarvest during this transition. Devices that support the dongle will be grandfathered in.
